i'm not sure i really understand the purpose of blogging. on the one hand i don't know if i want anyone reading what i have to say. i haven't found a rhythm and relevancy to my writing. but yet i'm disappointed when no one has found my blog. i'm missing something here. james arthur ray recommends journaling. so maybe i can look at this as my journal and a way to share things i've learned or observed in this journey called life.
i have been reading a book named "spark your dream" it's by two argentinians who traveled from argentina to alaska in a graham paige, which is an antique car, 1928 or thereabouts. i met them at the new york state fair this summer. they were wonderful people. and the book confirms that impression. it is less a memoir about their trip than a series of insights and inspirations on how to spark your dream. i'm loving the experience.
one of the things they talked about was accepting help. there seemed to always be help available to them as they travelled, whatever they needed was there when they needed it. they started out with the belief that they had to do this by themselves entirely. as they traveled and met the people that helped them on the way they realized that by taking they were really giving. it's something i've heard many times before and each time i've heard it it sinks in a little deeper. i sometimes try too hard to be an island.
having read this particular part of the book and thinking about it, i began to encounter people that were offering help in various ways, without my asking. i was bouncing along happy as a lark. the law of attraction was working perfectly. happiness is.
then i got a parking ticket.
